NOD32 is our preferred AV solution based on the outstanding ability of the product to detect both known and unknown malware, it's speed of detection and minimal impact on system performance are second to none.
NOD32 has one of the best in-the-wild virus detection rates, coupled with the fastest scanning engine - a great bonus for all those of us that don't have our own supercomputers! Pattern updates are compact, can be checked for hourly and if required, distributed over a LAN from a local server. The product is robust and easy to configure and manage - unlike many of it's rivals.
NOD32 is very competitively priced and we can offer discounts for multiple licenses, networks, corporate and educational installations. Please call us for a quotation.
Unlike many of the solutions you will find elsewhere, we will even deliver and install the product locally within the price and check your systems for viruses. We can usually deliver and install your product within 24 hours but if not electronic delivery and a self-install will have your systems protected within minutes of your order.
Scanning of email before delivery to the desktop is also an important feature for small networks with local mail servers. NOD32 supports Microsoft Exchange, Novell and many UNIX/Linux Servers and mail systems - please call for more information.
What is a computer virus?
A computer virus is much like its name implies and is very similar in its actions to that of the human variety. It is block of malicious code that has been written it a way that allows it to replicate itself across computer systems. Unlike the human variety they are man-made and spread via infected floppy disks, networks or more commonly now via email and the Internet. There are tens of thousands of them in existence and although most do not represent a threat to the average computer user, many do and the consequences of infection can be devastating to business continuity. There are many different categories including 'trojans' which can unlock access to your systems for their authors via the Internet.
The Importance of Virus Protection
With the mass uptake of email, it is very likely that you will have been or will be sent an email infected with a computer virus. It's a very sad fact that some very clever individuals have nothing better to do with their time, but fact it is and we have to live with it so be prepared!
A single PC can be protected for £23.00 (+VAT) so why risk it?
There are many packages available that offer virus protection but remember they are of limited use if you don't keep them up to date. New viruses are created daily but thankfully most fail through poor programming or other factors and only a few become prevalent enough to make the headlines. Most anti-virus companies are very quick to provide an updated 'pattern file' which allows their programs to detect and remove the threat before you suffer any damage. If you are a frequent user of email and the Internet you should update the pattern daily or at the very least weekly.
For larger network systems most corporate packages can update themselves every few hours when connected to the Internet and then update each of the workstations too. Many Internet Service Providers also offer a mail filtering service which will scan emails before you receive them. Local ISP Eclipse Internet are one such company. Remember though that CD's and other removable disks as well as local area networks can also be used to spread viruses so this service does not remove the need for local virus protection.
If you are unlucky enough to be affected by a virus infection, we offer a removal service which can include the recovery/replacement of the PC's data files where possible.
